TA Performance has Sprtsman series rods as well as reconditioned stock rods. I have a set of Eagle rods in my motor. I'm sure several others make rods for our Buicks.

Thanks guys. Bob, I was really just wondering if they are made because Ive never seen them when looking at aftermarket rods. Ive seen Poncho, Olds, AMC, and of course Chevy, Mopar, and Ford. I never see them for Buicks though.
Wow, Rob, it even looks nice. Looks really strong also. Do you machine and sell them often or was that a one time thing?
About How Much For A set and also can they be driven on the street?? I Have A Set Of Corrillo Rods I May want to Unload...
Yeah, can you post here or PM me a price on a set. I'm considering a set of rods for my engine as it's going to be race only now.
TA Perf has some good stuff but has disappointed me in providing rods. I ordered some rods five weeks ago and still have not seen them. Worse yet is that they can't tell me when their supplier is going to provide. They've been nice and apologetic about it all but still, not having a handle on your suppliers (and perhaps inventory control at TA) does not make for happy customers. If anyone else made aftermarket rods, I'd be compelled to go there. BTW, anyone know if there is another aftermarket supplier of steel rods? Loops
My TA Billet rods are Manley jobs, but I don't know if TA has an exclusivity agreement with them or not...wouldn't surprise me, as they have similar arrangements with T&D (rockers) and ARP (fasteners). Devon
I have just three letters for you gents GRP Iordered a set and had them two weeks later. custom size, special order but they are small block chevy rods. a little pricey at 950. a set but worth every penny later Scott:beer
thanks HOPSON and DAWILDCAT. I just sent an e-mail to GRP for a price quote. i'll report back to the forum about the prices (al and ti). anybody else have any leads? loops
GRP does billet Aluminum and Titanium rods and we use them. We always get them in about two weeks from them. If you want to go that route, I can do it quickly, they run about $950 for aluminum. The sportsman rods are forged steel, so first they have to do the forgings then they have to machine them. And they have to schedule a small production run in the middle of doing hundreds of Chevys. I think it sucks that I can't tell you exactly when we will have the Sportsmans. Normal turn around is 8+ weeks. The best we could get from them is that they will try to sneak them inbetween. However, I can understand that. Right now at TA (just to clarify, we don't make the rods here) All of our CNC machines are tied up doing intake manifolds, if you needed something else I wouldn't be able to do it until they are done. Occasionally if we have something small to do, we can sneak it in when they switch between operations, but there never is a definate time when that will occur. I normally have the sportsman's on the shelf ready to go. And yes an inventory control problem did cause some of this, i.e. the mis labled package. The only little defense I can offer is that a product like this never even existed a few years ago. And currently I have about $75,000 on the shelf of all the other connecting rods that we offer for the Buick that no one else keeps in inventory. I personally apologize for the confusing transaction.
