advice....th350..HELP!!!!

    made the maiden voyage in my 66chev last night. OK, just settle down all you buick huggers......LOL..... anyways, heres the prob...no 3rd gear in my th350,,1st to 2nd shifts fine, never even tries to go into 3rd. the tranny hasn't been run for quit some time.....anyone have any suggestions besides GET A BUICK......lol ....thanks..glenn

    Glen,
    I guess you have checked your fluid level and condition, right? How about the linkage? Are you sure you are in D and not L2? After that, I would check the governor. On the THM-350, it's located under a round cover retained by a wire clip.(driver's side) If you can substitute a good governor, that would be best, otherwise look for a damaged drive gear or sticking valve and/or weights. Hope that helps.

    I remember hearing somewhere that a 350 will not go in to high gear if the vacuum modulator is inoperative. Check the hose and tube leading down to it.
