Young yuppie driving an Acura TL?......CL?... 3.2....something like that. Anyway, this guy is driving very aggressively yesterday morning about 6 am. We're both trying to get to the tollway. I make a point to get next to him at the last red light before the tollway on ramp. So there we are side by side.....on ramp is about an eighth of a mile away, and the guy starts revving on me! His six banger really sounded angry!!!:laugh: Light turns green and I give the Buick just enough gas to launch with little spin. Once it shifts into second I let her eat! By th time I get to the on ramp, I am at least 6-7 car lengths ahead of this knucklehead. I get on the tollway and cruise at about 80. About a half mile down the road he finally passes me. He must be doing 100 by this time. I guess he calls that a win!

Mark, good kill buddy. As I stated in a post on the turbo Buick board, I think a win to these ridiots (rice idiots) is determined by who lets off on the gas last. One thing with ricers that I have noticed is that they will never take their foot off the floor until they can finally pass you. Even if you are on the brakes when they do, and they consider it a win. They are utterly clueless. Freed, you're right. That argument is a joke. that's like saying pound for pound a pit bull is tougher than a Kodiak bear. It's irrelevent. The Kodiak would still use the pit bull to floss his teeth. :laugh:
Heh... we have this great 3 lane light here in Calgary that's just about a 1/4 mile to the base of a small rise. I'm smart enough to let off at the top of the hill since officer friendly is often wating on the other side. I've led 3 happy ricers into that trap int he last 2 years :laugh: ...yes, and more seconds per 1/4 mile...mine has more litres per dollar...

Good job Mark! It's idiots like these that deserve to get their butts kicked. I look at it this way,they are asking for it as soon as they think they have a fast car.They don't know what is fast and it up to us guys to show them who's faster.

I don't understand this "generation" that I'm unfortunately part of (I'm 24)....I would almost say it's a whole different generation than mine, but I've seen TONS of guys I graduated high school and college with that are now typical ricers. My first car, that I still own (1972 Datsun 1200), I've NEVER thought was a "fast" car, even now that it runs 15's (hey started off doing 19's!). It's all relative to me....if a (generally) older person asks me if it's fast, I tell them "it's quick, but not fast, it does good for what it is" and if a ricer asks, the reply is "yeah, it's fast" mainly cause it can smoke most of their crappy Honduhs. The Sport Wagon doesn't get questions about how fast it is, because it's supposed to be slow, I just let it do the talking for itself :grin:
Yeah, it's easy to spot guys who have never taken their cars to the track. They read in a book somewhere that there car is supposed to be fast............compared to what?? Another Jap car? As soon as they go to the track and get their butts handed to them, they instantly realize where they are in the pecking order of fast cars. Way at the bottom! Oh well, I don't mind giving them humility lessons.:laugh:
I went to both Import and Domestic drags (and Friday night free for all's) all the time. I have to admit, I enjoy going to the Import ones more (NO pun intended) simply because I laugh my butt off at how fast they think they are! And then everyone freaks out when the "FAST" imports roll up and do 13 - 14 second runs, it's great! There are rarely some faster ones usually at bigger tracks, but most of those have at least like $10K in upgrades and aren't FWD. You could be a star at an Import drags if you run less than 14's....so fast.........whatever! I remember racing a newer Civic Si at an Import event at River City Raceway that had been done up (intake, exhaust, MSD, headers, lowered, rims, spoilers, neons, etc etc). Those are supposed to do high 15/ low 16's stock and he couldn't get it out of the 17's all night....needless to say the Datsun spanked him. Then I got that highly sought after "respect" (Fast and Furious) and everyone kept telling me "that little thing is fast!" when I pulled into the pits.
