I have the same friggen problem....

i have to feather foot it so to speak to keep it running but it will idle like a kitten.

it also likes to backfire up into the carb while it is doing it on mine anyway and it only does it when its a little warm. runs great cold and great when its nicely warmed up (20 min drive)

Guys! The solution to this problem is so simple! Back off on your FOOT adjustment. Problem solved! Seriously though, check the condition and adjustment of your accelerator pump and be sure there are no vacuum leaks. Nate: Sounds like your choke or pull off are not working right or are maladjusted. I've had these same problems with Q-jets.

I had the same problem....the car didn't die out when I floored it, but after I let off the gas it would die. It idled fine but if I tapped the gas, then let off it would almost stall. Turned out to be a bad choke thermostat. I got the whole entire choke assembly for like $15 bucks from Carquest. After that it ran fine.
