Love that color. Back in late '85 dad took me to the local Buick dealer to look at a few Regals. Seen that T-Type in that color and tried to get him to by it.

Yep, Limited with the blackout package. In ‘86, all turbo cars were either GNs or T-Types, with blackout trim and buckets. In ‘87, the T-Type was gone, replaced with the Turbo option on any Regal coupe. They built GNs, WE4s, base Regals with the Turbo package with black trim or chrome trim, Limiteds with the turbo package with black trim or chrome trim and allowed vinyl Landau tops with and without padding. A buyer could add leather to his Limited (45/45 with a mini console). A buyer could add the wide Limited rocker trim to a base Regal. And they offered the T package without Turbo, which resultwd in 307 4bbl Regal with black trim and aluminum wheels. I think that’s right…

My Dad ordered a '87 Regal Limited Turbo with Chrome, a Bench Seat, and padded Landau top. Here's the day it came home.

One of my limiteds is a grey car with wo2 trim. Strangely optioned car. Power locks, manual windows, twilight sentinel, and a radio delete with a power antenna. My dad, who worked as a salesman back then, said there’s no way this car wasn’t special ordered, as the dealer would have never wanted such a car for stock. That’s what makes the 87s so cool and unique, IMO. Everything was ala carte.

    That’s a super cool Limited!!!
I’ve seen more than a few G bodies with power locks and crank windows-makes me wonder if the buyers were happy with the window cranks but were getting particular in the ‘crime ridden ‘80s’ about locking all the time, and being able to lock all doors instantly (and unlock quickly). I bet whomever ordered yours was going to put a fancy radio in right after delivery, too. (I parted a loaded ‘79 Trans Am once that had power antenna, radio accomodation group and radio delete…)

If you ever owned an '80's GM car with power windows, you'd understand why crank windows were better IMO.

I had an ‘85 Silverado, and the windows in it wouldn’t complete an ‘up’ trip on ‘key on, engine off’ voltage. I had to crank it so that the 13.5 volts would finish the trip.

Dave was your Dad's Limited Dark Blue with tan pinstripe and Blue cloth interior?

I was just gonna say... the power windows are absolute trash. My Limited has them, and while I would never change them, I could do without them.

Hey Rich - It was Black with a Red pinstripe - and the interior was that Blue/Grey Cloth with overstuffed 55/45 split seats.

My first car was an 83' Regal. It was equipped with power locks and manual windows. It's definitely true about GM's power widows being troublesome during that time period. My mother's 83' Cadillac had random power window malfunctions. Usually during wintertime.

I had a ‘78 Coupe deVille, and the windows in it were the ‘old’ style; they made enough torque to actually make the car rock slightly if you moved them one at a time.
