    Hey fellas,
I am looking at the above car. The car is pretty rough. It needs engine work, however the T Tops are 3 years old and it has the stock aluminum turbine wheels. I did not even know you could get a T Type with a V8 until I ran across this car. I just need a few questions answered. Anyone have any idea how many T Types came with the V8? I found some info that said there were 9400 87' Regals with T Tops. I wanted a Turbo car, but this may work for me for the price. Since this is not the Turbo car does it still have the 8.5 rear end and the heavy duty 200r4 trans? Does it have the close ratio steering box that the GN used? I may be able to use the trans and gear box in my '72 Skylark if this thing is just junk and I part it out. He said he has an extra set of fenders, doors, hood and trunk lid. Please let me know! I am leaving for FL on vacation Friday and may have to jump on this between today and tommorow.I may go look at it tonight. Thanks for any help. I looked around some of the turbo sights, but most info is on the turbo cars.
    Thanks, Mike :TU: :TU: :TU:

Few things that I know. The trans is NOT the good one that came with the turbo cars. That trans has a BRF code on the tag. T-top cars are weak in general, not a good base for anything else. The console works pretty nice in our Skylarks. Look on the steering box and see if it has a "z" on it. Those are the quick ratio boxes. In general there is not much there that you want for a Lark.

    ... ARE YOU SURE THE CAR ISN'T A 1987 "SPECIAL-T?"
I HAVE A 87' SPECIAL-T REGAL WITH OLDS 307 V8 (CANADA BASED 1-OF 280 BUILT FOR 1987--NO T-TOPS), WITH THE SAME STOCK ALUMINUM RIMS, CENTER CONSOLE SHIFTER, DIGITAL DASH, AND A LIMITED-SLIP 308-GEARED 7.5" REAR. THE 4-SPEED OVERDRIVE (WEAK) TH200 ALSO CAME STOCK.

D&S PERFORMANCE IN CAMDEN NJ HAS MY MOTOR (1973 BUICK 455 awaiting $1,600 balance) THAT I PURCHASED FROM BOP CONNECTION FOR $450 (RUNNING W/GOOD OIL PRESSURE, AND I GOT A 74' H.E.I. DISTRIBUTOR WITH IT). THIS MOTOR REPLACES THE OLDS 307 IN FEBRUARY 2008.

I FEEL YOU HAVE WHAT I HAVE.
    HOPE THIS HELPS.

Your in luck. I special ordered one in 1986 for a 87 Regal T with the 307 V8 engine. Has all the parts that the turbo T has except engine, trans and rear. Mine was white with the T-package and black-out package. I have only seen a few around. I sold mine in 2000 due to the ex-wife, should of hold on to it. I sold it to a guy in the midwest who is a collector and currently still has it like new condition as I sold it to him. I even ordered the car without the overdrive trans but it did have the posi rear. The car ran great, never had any problems with it and also looked great, but slow! Hope this helped e-mail me if you like some photos. The car I did not get rid of was my 71 GS350 with 4 speed, no air, no buckets, no power brakes but it does have an 8-track! I am currently doing a frame-off restoration on it now. I have owned it since 1985.
