I'm done.. I need to move on to a hobby that doesn't rely on other people's time frame. My patience has run out..I will be liquidating every single piece of racing stuff I own (which isn't really much). Do you want to go fast all day with a not too radical BBB. Then this car is for you drop your engine in and go! The car: 86 Somerset tube chassis NHRA certified to 7.50 (expires in 17) I'll get it re certified if that seals deal. Race weight 2500lbs w/ fat driver 250+lbs all 4 tires have 16 passes on them new front and rear strange disc brakes, rotors and lines. new rear adjustable strange shocks new 4.30 pro gear and seals and bearings new strange driveshaft new stroud spring loaded chute. (never pulled) ford 9" Strange center section 35 spline axles custom built power glide full reid case with Chevy bell housing with all the good stuff inside (cost $5000.00) custom stainless stage 4 step down headers exit the side. I would be willing to deliver the car if I get my asking price. $16,000 trust me like every race car for sale on this board your stealing the car.. If you want it cheaper I can remove items.. I would be interested in some trades plus cash too nice bodied 70 skylark 86 and up Turbo regal Camping trailer ATV or UTV Pics can be seen in another thread car has changed a little.. The wing is now powder coated black http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.p...The-Somerset-Screamer-quot&highlight=somerset
I'm really sorry to hear that Frank. You were one of the people that I really enjoyed meeting at the 2015 Nationals. You made me feel welcome even though I was only a spectator. I'll never forget that. Thank You. Good luck with the sale. I wish I had the extra money right now. It's a beautiful car.
Wow Frank.... Sorry to hear that it's not working out. I kind of felt the same way about my race car......exactly why I'm going back to a street/strip car that will "hopefully" do double duty. I know a good street car doesn't make a good race car and "vis-a-versa", but I much more enjoy the entire process when I'm able to at least drive it around town or to the local shows, cruises, etc. Good luck with the sale....that's one hell of a deal for someone. If I were in the market I would have been all over this one or Alan's car. Those are perfect bracket cars with a mild motor, for a couple or family that's into racing. Also, you could add a Tomahawk and go fast without issues. Just too tough to do it all yourself!! Steve
Hi Mike, Thank you for the kind words.. I try to treat people like I was and would like to be treated. I learned that from being in the Northeast GSGN club.. Great racers but even better people..
Thanks Steve, It was a lot of work for a single guy to handle. Your thoughts are exactly who should buy this car. Buick family with a mild BBB and race all day..
Sorry to hear this frank. I had been hoping to see this car running this season. Best of luck with the sale
Damn Frank! Sorry things didn't work out the way they should've. If anyone is considering this car, it's TOP NOTCH! No expenses spared anywhere! By the way, I have the same questions as Gary... Dave
Bumpity bump.. Those tax checks burning a hole in your pocket?? I added the old V8 thread in case somebody wants to see some pictures. I have more off line.. I hope it works http://v8buick.com/index.php?threads/my-new-ride-im-calling-it-the-somerset-screamer.270444/
I got tired of trying to sell mine so it's getting some updates and I'm going to burn the hides off of it.
Alan, I wish I could do the same.. Lol.. Come on guys throw me a good trade or number. The worst I can say is no.. I'm open to anything.. (insert joke here)
I will be selling by 70 GS clone as a roller in a few weeks. I'm headed out the door for a couple of days. I will post pictures if you are interested.
