Hi I have a 86 regal limited with a 350 sbc bored .30 over with a 4 barrel edelbrock carb and 224 cam and a 350 automatic turbo tranny with a shift kit I was wondering if anyone could tell me if a 70-81 trans am complete limited slip posi rear end would fit in the regal or if not what rear end and gears would be good to get. Looking for gears that will get it off the line but not be to high for highway driving

I think the tran am rearend is a leaf spring rearend and I know your Regal rearend is a coil spring one so they won't interchange. If you want to keep your Regal rearend a posi center section out of a s-10 will interchange, that is what I used in my Regal. A 3.42 gear would be good for your regal.

If the rear end in the Regal is original, its a 7.5" rear. I believe the rear in the TA's were 8.5"

    GStage1 Always looking for parts!

The stock 7.5 is junk when you start making HP.....go to UMI Performance and they make a kit/t-arms to install 8.5rears from 71-2 Skylark/Cutlass models under your Regal....don't waste your money building the 7.5
