You know there is a ton of rust in the rear end of that poor old car.

Probably is. I dunno; those three shifters sprouting out where they should only be one is a bit distracting, suppose you grab the wrong one?

Those years were known as sticker horse power. Slap a W30 sticker on it and have more power. Lol!

Yes the 307 was pretty weak e en on the vin9 cars. You can chip the ecm and it gives much better response but it's still not "sporty".

Still very cool cars, especially with ttops imo

Ps I love the CCC system

It’s almost like the Olds engineers were apologizing and expecting the buyer to do an engine swap; they gave you the best rear end (8.5 with 3.73s), the best 200-4R and a very good suspension, full instrumentation plus all the appearance goodies.

Exactly. Especially with that electronic distributor and carb. Rip them off and put in a distributor with an advance and a real carb and at least you could tune it.

I did that to my 86 Cutlass Salon and I went from 18.68 et to a 16.4 and gas mileage went from 15 mpg to 16 with the catalytic converter still in place. Let me tell you, that's a white knuckle ride with all that performance!:D

In my new book there is a chapter dedicated to the E4ME quadrajet, tuning with the CCC system, and CCC delete.

It's a good system, but not without its limitations.

I would think that an economical solution to just drive and enjoy a G-body like this (non-turbo Buick) would be to swap in a healthy (economical) reman'd or crate 350 ... and then maybe address the trans and rear gear upgrade.

Well, that would have been the logical thing to do, but... IMG_0001 (2).JPG IMG_0001.JPG

Cool! The 200r is a pretty good trans. I think a mild 455 Buick would serve it well. This car can be had cheaper than the asking price and may wind up being parted which I think is a shame. I’m in line for parts if so. The only problem is that the rare parts aren’t cheap and he knows it.

I bought the Skyhawk about a month after my Cutlass looked like this: That's my next project. No turning back at that time. 00.JPG

That H/O would be cool to have. of course axe the pos chevy 307 and drop in maybe a 350-455 Olds in it. The car has to live up to the H/O

    It's an Oldsmobile 307, not a Chevy.
