8 track player,16 tapes and parts 8 track buick 8 track player in fully functional condition. new factory belts. included is a second 8 track player, i list it as a parts unit because I just found it in one of my many boxes and am not sure if it works or not. it has the plain non buick embossed door. if it sweetens the deal great. the working one was gone through about 4 years ago, clean bill of health , all harnesses included. cosmetically its good, some wear/pitting on the tape door otherwise its clean. the bracket is the later 69-72 large one not the 2 separate brackets as '68 and prior, main unit interchanges . I had this in my '71 skylark, and didn't use it much and it looks odd in my GS convert. I have 16 tapes to go with it... $295.00 firm
please email for pics. tapes range from johnny cash , foghat , the police, cheap trick... 16 in all... seems I had more, but the wife must have gotten rid of them.
Idle curiosity, but my 1968 Riviera doesn't have the word "BUICK" on the tape door, just blank and chrome finish. Original '68, and was wondering what year they started using the name on the door.
Possibly a GM dealer 'nongeneric' installed accessory - Both of my '68 Riv parts cars had 8 Tracks, one with "Buick" in white reverse embossed lettering, and one with just a plain chrome flip door? o No:
Thanks for the pic, installed mine but had to remove some AC stuff. Trying to find out where the 8 track is supposed to go when they come out of the factory. I have mine dead center below the ashtray. I have seen them to the left and the right of the ashtray. Does anyone know where they should go?? Thanks for your help.
8 tracks are as follows: foghat> live, rock and roll outlaws. the police> ghost in the machine zenyatta mondatta, synchronicity. alice cooper> from the inside.[very rare 8 track] the cars, candy o. cheap trick >dream police, heaven tonight. ted nugent> double live gonzo,free-for-all,state of shock, scream dream. bob welch> french kiss. elivis presley> aloha from hawaii VIA satellite. johnny cash's >greatest hits. I had about 100 of them... lots of old country etc, but they went to good will...
On the instructions I have from Mark Lob it shows the right side of the bracket being centered on the ash tray with more of the player on the drivers side. Probably so the driver can install the 8 tracks without leaning over
PM's replied to in the order received. whomever gets back to me first via my email address owns 'er. sure you guys dont want the whole car ?
the '71 gs 350 convert I had up here, last year at this time. no hurry to move it, but until I know whether its staying or going I'm sort of locked to a bunch of nos stuff, that if it sold I'd open the gates on. if any ever does buy the car, they'd have dibs on the extras, but judging by the last 2 cars I've sold, parts seem to be unwanted these days.. [theyre nuts!]
Peedenmark7, I am going to pass on the tapedeck. Wrong color, I am looking for a tan/brown unit for my 72. Regards, Upstaged in (snowy) SW Michigan.
