anyone have an 8.2 posi unit/complete rear they want to sell? i have a very nice 8.5 drum to drum with auburn diff,richmond gears(3:42) that i might do a trade/$.rear came out of a 71 cutlass,mine is a 70 gs455

Is it a posi? If so I'm interested in a trade. I have the 8.2 that came with a parts car, I also have a 12 bolt Olds.
8.2 The posi and gears came out of a 67 Buick special rearend. I will check the ratio again, but I believe it is correct. What gear/posi is in the 12 bolt Olds?
'64-'67 Buick A-body used the '64-69 Pontiac 8.2 ring & pinion & carriers aka as "BOP" 8.2. '68-70 BUICK 8.2 gear availabilty went from 2.93 to 3.23. No 3.08's. The '68 BUICK 8.2 is different animal. Want more info, do a search on this forum for BUICK 8.2. Got Posi? :3gears: Roger
If you or anyone else is interested and/or still looking, I've got a never installed Auburn pro series posi, part number 542060 that I purchased from PAW several years ago. It is for teh 8.2" BOP axle from the late 60s, although someone on a different thread stated that they didn't believe it would fit a late 60s Skylark. I don't know for sure, but I thought it would have. I've also got a set of 4.56:1 Richmond gears to go with it, and a TA aluminum girdled rear end cover, as well. They are all for sale if somebody is interested.....none of em fit the Riv. Nick
I think I have what your looking for...what year car are you working on? 67 and back or 68-70? I need the 8.5 for my 72. I'm in TN only a few hours away. Will be going through that area around Memorial day and I have a friend who could make the trade. Let me know.
