Hello all, can anyone suggest an aftermarket sway bar kit and the best diameter to get for a 75 Regal 350. I have an old Herb Adams rear sway bar that I did not install yet since I don't have the mounting brackets for it but I know it is more than an inch in diameter. I think I remember it being 1 1/8 in diameter (I have to dig it out of the attic to be sure). Thanks, Mario
Use one from a 1980's-'early '90's Caprice/Impala cop car.It's a direct bolt in and is a large diameter. Fast ratio steering box will bolt in ,too.
I have a big front sway bar I was going to put on my 73 Regal. I'm not exactly sure of the size but I can check it out. It's bigger than an inch. I think it will fit yours if you're interested.
I can get both front 1 1/8" and rear 7/8" factory sway bars from local yard for $30 each; check 4 door cars from 73-77 era.if your car doesn't have rear bars you may have to drill lower arms to install; some cars didn't have holes ;They may still have 1 1/4" 70-81 F-body bar for $45. all plus actual ups shipping (get cardboard free at work)
I'll have to give Steve a thumbs up on this. He got a big front bar for me to put on my '77 Regal. I used the red bushings and end links and everything went on like a charm.
That Herb Adams rear bar is 1 1/2" thick. Biggest one I have ever seen. There are no mounting brackets, it mounts between both lower control arms with grade 8 bolts.
will have to look TODAY have to measure to see if same size as 68-72 cars (should be, as the front is used from 68-78 A's, and apparently on F's through 81, and B's through 90's. I ASSUME you want front bar; only cars if seem with rear bars out there are 73-77 cars for some reason. For some reason the brackets usually are eat up with rust. you'll need new brackets and end links in any case...
yeah a front well id take both if they would work on my 66 but i need a fat front and a rear so im looking for either or
