73 455 block numbers

    cpk 71 im just a number

    on the front near timing cover 43y110068 in back of intake 1241735 with 455 stamped above it above dipstick on block just below head x f 072, 73 on head is obvious.
    head number mp 1241860 any help is great thanks chris

    Sure

    4 Buick, 3 model year (1973), Y assembly plant (don't know which plant off the top of my head), 110068 is the last six digits of the vin # of the car the engine was installed in at the factory.

    1241735 is the casting number of the block

    XF is the engine code, 072 is shift code at assembly.

    1241860 is the head casting number:TU:

    anybody know horsepower torque for 73 xf 455?

    XF I believe was a big car motor. HP rating 225 @4000 TQ 360 @2600 @ 8.5:1 compression. GS 455 was HP 250 @4000 TQ 375 @2800 8.5:1 and Stage 1 was HP 260 @4000 TQ 380 @2800 8.5:1.
