car was checked out by George N and someone else here. Supposed to be a crappy paint job missing some pieces, and runs terrible. geroge said to stay away from it and I trust his judgement. If it can be bvought right and the matching numbers stuff is there then maybe it would be a deal.

The one I checked out was in Tampa and I believe it did not have PW or the AIR pump....maybe this is a different one. The one in Tampa was a factory Stg1 car but it was missing the correct carb and dist....it was rough.

Sure sounds like the same car same colors and maybe it got a quicky paint job by the new owner. Still in Fla so its probably the same car you looked at. I remember you saying it looked pretty bad underhood and didn't run very well. Same thing I am hearing about this one

There was a straight white one with no vinyl with a quickie paint job in tampa missing orignal carb and dist, he wanted 17k for the car and I think this is another car as I talked to this owner and he isbn't the same guy or even the same options etc. This car has all orignal dist and carb etc. To different white cars in my opinion. Bill was this the one form the GSCA bulletin your speaking of? I had a bunch of pics and I didn't remember it being a no vynil car. I guess all the old retirees are moving to Fla with these.

Both the cars we are talking about are on muscle cars.com , one is in Miami and one was in tampa, I truely believe the Miami car is pretty decent but is not detailed underhood and would be nice driver, the flame orange car that was recently on ebay could be had for probably 10k more and is totally frame off restored and all numbers mathc aswell. I am learning that is the way to go, 10k don't get you much of a resto. I told the guy in Miami I would consider 20k and he told me to have a nice day. Bill

I've known this car for years.... original nice black couple owned it up until about 3-4 years ago, always garaged until that time, it actually wasn't even driven for about 20-25 years... . Went through a couple flipper owners, now looks pretty good overall, and it's ALL there and SOLID. Real nice driver or better quality. When was the last time you saw a triple white, true unmolested pedigreed survivor, with papers?? It's worth WAYYYYYY more than 20k. But, that's just my opinion. My car, as comparison, is available immediately at 39k with phenominal past history.

The car has been on ebay twice and never made 23k , and when you go to buy a car you gotto start somewhere as far as offers go. I believe the car is worth closer to the asking price but also believe it will need work to get it better then driver quality if you go by the ebay underhood and trunk pics. JH your car is totally worth your asking price and I've been waiting for pics of it. I recently bought a totally orignal 72 stage 1 48k miles on it , near mint car and was somewhere right in between your car and this one and feel I got a really fair deal. A car is worth only what someone is willing to pay for it and so far no one has bucked up. Bill

100% agreed Bill.... i'm not sure eBay is the correct route for Buick's, it just seems that GS's never meet the value quotient being marketed there no matter what the economy, regardless of condition.. that reflects on the market indicators. This white car is definately worth more than 20k. I think, not sure, that the guy has about 27-29k in it at this point, I could have bought it for 13.5k when it surfaced at a friends shop a few short years back, I think he paid 11.5k or 12kk for it. It needed serious cleaning and detail then, but from 20' away it looked real good. The current owner did a LOT of work already. It deserves further resto and fluff for sure, but dammmm, it's ALL there, and is loaded with options. 72's, as much as I personally luv them, will never approach the added value enigma of a '70 or '71.. I don't think it's right if I put my $$ figure opinion on someone else's car on the 'net.

as far as mine Bill, to be honest, I absolutely positively want to sell it, future family plans are WAYYYYY more important right now, I just don't have the nerve to take pic's and market it openly. I've had it 14 years now. It's lives in an enclosed trailer, in a warehouse. It's not a #1 car. It's not numbers match everywhere. I can weigh the 3 folders of paperwork on a scale... Someone that wants to spend a 1/2 day, and me show them everything, and drive it for 100 miles, it would be a goner the same day.... (sorry for the thread hijack)

The white car is the real deal and rust free. It needs a cosmetic resto and runs rough. I spoke to the most recent owner the first time it was on Ebay and board member Richopp looked at and drove it. $25k isn't completely unreasonable.. .

The car from Tampa is a total pile with several issues. It was listed in the GSXTRA so I called him and he sent me some pics and the car has severe rust issues in a lot of places. Different cars for sure. I have also wondered what the story was with the car in Miami for 25K.

when looking to buy these cars, i dont think you should be scared off because they dont run right. when they run rough you can usually negotiate a better price. 10 short years ago i bought a rust free 1970 stage 1. it would hardly idle when i looked at it, the owner knocked off 2k off the asking price. i bought it, the car had the wrong carb base gasket on it. changed the gasket and the car ran great.:beer
