No pictures yet, but I am sure they will have them soon. This is at VOLO in IL.

1972 BUICK GS, 15 BUILT! NOT A CLONE. ONLY 81 STAGE ONE CONVERTIBLES BUILT IN 1972. 66 HAD AUTOMATICS ON THE CLOUMN AND 15 HAD 4 SPEED ON FLOOR. ALL GS CONVERTIBLES IN 1972 HAD BENCH SEATS, THEREFORE ALL AUTOMATICS HAD TO BE ON THE COLUMN. THIS IS REAL. THE LETTER V IN THE SERIAL NUMBER DESIGNATES STAGE 1. A CONCOURSE READY $100,000, 12 YEAR RESOTRATION BY BUICK EXPERT DAVID KLEINER WAS PERFORMED. BODY OFF FRAME, EVERY SINGLE PIECE RESOTRED TO FACTORY SPECS. HAS GOODYEAR G-60 POLYGLASS GT TIRES, DELCO BATTERY, POLLUTION PUMP, GM HOSES AND MORE. ALL NUMBERS MATCH INCLUDING THE BEAUTIFUL COLOR COMBS. THE RESTORATION SPEAKS FOR ITSELF. IT IS ONE OF THE COUNTRY'S FINEST MUSCLE CARS. IF YOU DON'T KNOW, THE STAGE ONES, W-30'S, PONTIAC RAM AIR III AND IV CARS HAVE SOLD IN THE HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. BUT THEY MUST BE CONVERTIBLE 4 SPEEDS. THIS CAR IS WORTH THE MONEY. ALSO AVAILABLE 12 MONTH 12,000 MILE WARRANTY ON MOST CARS ONLY $999.00. This should make my clone worth what?

I have never seen an original so this is of great interest to me, as you might expect. I thought these would go for huge bucks but never this much, this is truely one rare car. This makes me feel much better about the money I shelled out for my car.

I feel really lucky to have basically the same vehicle (I get my color too), and bonus be able to drive it. Of course I would still rather have the real one, but this is the best I could do.

Bring on the pictures, maybe I will win the lottery Saturday and be able to get the real thing (my only shot). Do you think this is the only survivor still in existance?

I forgot about your sorry. So yours this one for 129K, and one other. Wow I bet you are happy, Is yours complete or still in restoration? Do you have any pictures posted here?

One final question does anyone know if any of the 1972 GS converts had the bench with the fold down arm rest? I was told that was Skylark only.

It is exciting to see this stuff, to me at least it is.

My car just needs to be detailed some. It has an armrest, burnished copper with saddle interior. My 71 4 speed is the same color as the one at Volo.

A gentleman in AZ bought the car from Volo. We became friends as I just missed buying the car by hours. Interesting history on the car as it was involved in a law suit over the restoration bill. The guy in NJ that had it restored just wanted to get out of the car and sold it for less then the resto costs! It was just sold to a fellow up in Chicago and now he is trying to turn a profit on it through Volo. The car is really nice and Kleiner did a great job on it. I have used pictures of it to put the right finishes on my conv. I actually tried to purchase to have an auto and 4-spd as I do like the cars and felt they had the potential to increase in value. In AZ they have a Saturday car show at the Pavilions and this car has showed up many time.

    Hope they get the money!

    Stage 1 Convt.

This is one (of the many) underlying reasons I am selling my Hurst 300 and 1968 Camaro. Mine is a 4-speed with A/C and all matching #'s. 1972 model with burnished copper and a white top. Thanks to Marco for all of the vital information that he has provided to me on my car. So far it has been 14 months off of the frame but it will be done by Labor Day. Upstaged in Michigan.

    What exactly is Volo?

Is this place a museum or showroom , or both? Is this car on display for the public ? Has anyone ever been there ? What is it close to? Thanks, Kevin.

    volo

volo is a museum and a car showroom, located 40 mins from chicago, they have an antique area, where furniture can be bought, they also have a large area where cars can be seen. They also have some feature cars like the batmobile.
