I'm looking for some help in removing the rear seat in my 72 skylark. Not sure the process. I think a critter has made a home under there and I dont think he made it, aka-funny smell. Please help! Thanks.

They can be a pain. Push down...push back and then lift up. There is a catch under the seat and it must be released from that.

You can say that again! Be ready for sweat, hernia, and cussin!
Especially if not removed for a while. A two by four, and a small crow bar sometimes helps.
    Good luck!

By the way after you get it out spray some WD40 around those slots, make it easier next time.

Same procedure,,,only with significantly more force needed. I didn't even watch the video; saw that it was a more modern car in the video. You can get a modern car rear seat out with almost one hand compared to getting out the rear seat of a 68-72 A body...Seroiusly consider getting at least a lineup bar for leverage, and protect the seat material with a blanket folded over. It will go in amazingly easy. Figure that out.

Same procedure for your 1972 Skylark :TU:

Well, the seat came out without too much trouble and I disposed of the dead mouse. Its good too know how things go together. Thanks for the help.

You're stronger than the average girl, so no need for "getting at least a lineup bar for leverage, and protect the seat material with a blanket folded over"

I am almost certain that Eric (Bad Boattail) had the video posted Before I chimed in. I may be PSYCHOTIC at times; but I do NOT think I am PSYCHIC. How did his video get a posting time AFTER mine?
When I went to take the rear seat out of the 72 coupe it was a PITA to get out. The rear seat in the 71 vert was a piece of cake.
