Can't seem to come up with any here so here's hoping for some leads. Looking for both sides in good condition or better with white inserts.

    Any leads or information appreciated-Thanks!

    Thanks!

Thanks Rob, I'll check it out. I've been calling every place I can find in the Riview, Bugle and Hemmings with no luck so far. And none of the local junkyards have anything complete-let alone in white.

    Thanks again!

I saw your post on the Buick forum also. White was not a color the moldings came in for 1972. White cars came with black moldings. The other colors for moldings were green, blue, silver and sandalwood. You can always repaint the moldings any color you want.

Thanks Carl, I have a quick question though. Do you know what they used for cars that had a white vinyl top? Did the mouldings match the interior color?

Thanks Chris, but I will have to decline for now. With storage set for winter nothing else can be dragged home until spring. :) Dang snow!

Its pretty simple -- when the cars were built in the factory, there were 5 color bodyside moldings to pick from. The molding color was based upon the body color. White cars used black moldings. I have seen literature that tells which paint colors used which moldings. You can paint your moldings any color that makes you happy. Interiors came in sandalwood, black, saddle, green, blue and white. You can paint your moldings any of those colors too. If you want your car to be as built, then use black moldings.

Kris, I got a kick out of your signature. No back yard is complete without an abandoned Morris Minor (grey of course), an old hook and ladder Fire Truck (red fading into pink), and DeSoto (pink and grey two tone to match the other ones). Especially on the outskirts of town. If you have a collapsing barn to park them next to, so much the better.:)
