I have it on my ebay watch list: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Buick-Other-GSX-1972-buick-gsx-1-of-44-/291025829446?forcerrptr=true&hash=item43c27dbe46&item=291025829446&pt=US_Cars_Trucks#ht_147wt_1111
I wondered what happened to that car...the brother lived a few miles away from me and wanted 5K eight years ago. I took a bunch of pics and posted it on this site. I was told at the time that the brother who is currently selling it, had the broadcast sheet but he could not find due to being overseas (Iraq). Somewhere, on this site, I have really good detailed pictures of the body....I will try to find the pics.
I was actually thinking about it but it would have to be on the low end since it needs everything done and its not cheap! It also looks in your photos it has a 8.2 10 bolt rear which is not right for 1972. No matching numbers, who know about the transmission and the rear is not right. George
Ken I decoded the Sloan documentation on this car and it is factory equipped with option R2 which is extra anti freeze. This is probably a Canadian delivered car ,most were? What history do you know about this GSX?
Rich, If I remember correctly this car may have been ordered by a Canadian Dealership, but the end dealership was in Virginia. It was the same dealership that originally purchased my old 1971 350 GSX. The story from the salesman that originally sold my car was the dealership bought/stocked low optioned GSX's and used them as a draw to bring in customers. When one was sold they just bought another to use as a draw. Duane
I only met the brother once and that's when he had it on ebay 8 years ago...felt I could take some pictures for V8 board members. The brother seemed very honest and I enjoyed talking to him. Hope someone can take this rare car home. Ironically, I could have bought a 1971 red GSX in 1990 for $2K (never bought it....silly me!) and during the GSX reunion, I drove the car down the track for Mrs Miller during the award ceremony.
Fwiw I had a. '72 GS Conv that was Copper with Saddle int and " covert" top . I didn 't think it was bla . Plus they all look good restored. . It looks VA crusty not Canadian crusty . DL
Thanks Ken The red 71 GSX was a 350 car that the transporter guy who bought it contracted Dave Kliener to upgrade into a stage 1 car? What factory options do you recall on that red car when you saw it? Of course after restoration it was equipped with everything ie hood tach ,front spoiler, est, est which I understood were not original to that car?
