    Know it'll fit the Ramrod

Taken in May, 1968. My "stable" Ford was a little raggedy by then after my two younger brothers beat it up pretty good.

Annihilated that red and white 56 Chev in the background with both the Ramrod and the Valiant. 327 four speed. All he wanted to race from then on was the Flathead 52 Ford.

That is a good buy on that engine. 68-72's were the best ones.

    Tim:

Brian won't be on line until he gets back to work Monday. Brian works in Auburn Hills, Mi (Northwest of Detroit), so it's gotta be somewhere around there. If you want it, set it up, I can pick it up and hold it here until you can get it.

    Sounds good Dave.

I do want the motor if it indeed does run fine.

Maybe Tom will have something for sale to make it worth the trip.

YUP, that I did. When I left for college, my dad wanted his garage back. Told me I could keep one car there in the driveway. So, I sold the 40 Ford, hauled 2 or 3 trailer loads of 40-48 Ford stuff to the junkyard, but couldn't bring myself to get rid of a 39 Ford trans with Zephyr gears and a stick shift flywheel for an early Olds. Both were on my 41 Convertible. So I buried them in my Mom's garden. She found them there about 10 years later and I got them back. Both in remarkably good shape.

Here's a Pontiac my brother bought new. I had one almost identical, but mine was a 61 with a stick shift.

...and a shot of our driveway in Okemos in 1973. That's my friend Tom with one of his vettes. He's he guy that comes up to Pure Stock races from Lansing and ws at the shindig. Bought new Vettes almsot every year from 1969 to 1976 through GM A plan. Made a profit on each one due to our discounts. Kept his 76, still has it.

The 63 Pontiac convt is one I pulled from a junkyard for $75, put on a fender, hood and grille and drove for 3 years. Painted it Sherwood green. Nice car. One before it was a rusty 421 HO tripower 4 speed (convertible also). I drove it for 2 years before I found this one, then parted it out. Wish I'd have just swapped drivetrains.

    Hijack, hijack-this is fun

and a front view of the 52 Ford with the frenched headlights and 54 grille shell and 54 Chevy grille. Had all the chrome replated on that car in 1965 (right before this pic was taken). Bummer that the pic got damaged. Had a warmed over 53 Merc flathead with milled heads, headers ( ), and a 3 speed overdrive with a 4.11 rear end. Originally was an inline six. Had a 283 Chevy in it for a while, but didn't trust it for the trips from Philadelphia to Ann Arbor 4 to 5 times a year.

Ran in the high 15's at Milan in 1965 (T stock?). Even ran against Ted Harbitt one time. Ran at Atco in New Jersey in 1963 with a worn out flathead in the 17's. (N Stock) Every year NHRA added a new class at the top and we went down another letter. Milan wanted to put me in D/Altered because of the Chevy grille. Clowns.

21 coat lacquer job in 1964 Chev Azure Aqua. Last coats were almost pure clear. Friend in Ky painted it for me.
