M-22 and hood tach? Price seems reasonable but if the trans isn't there, the motor probably isn't either.
Agreed...........no mention of #'s motor. Original tranny doesn't bother me, but non original motor would completely devalue this car in my eye's! I think if it was #'s, it would surely be listed Oh well, still good looking car
I know this is a long shot, but what if this was the original tranny listed on ebay to this car, ........its an August date http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/71-M...198602493QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item300198602493
This car looks like the same clone (real GS 455,not a Stage 1 or a 4 speed)that has been on eBay a couple of times in the last month or two and has been discussed here in several threads. I think the price is $38,900.
Wasn't that or isn't that Bobuick's car? I thought he sold it to Alaska someone for $27K. It was on E-Bay to I think. If it is the same car than it is a real GS455 convertible that had a manual added. I thought the M21 was the standard tranmission anyway.
Different VIN, no match. Plus most of the posts here seem to indicate this was originally an auto car. This looks like a very nice car. It was on eBay in Dec and did not make reserve, which is hard to believe. I would love to have it.
If anyone is interested there are 3 videos of it on youtube. Look under M-22 or 1971GS convertible demo. Kraig
It is a beautiful car. I don't really think it's worth the 39K if it's a clone, though. But it sure is nice, and it would be expensive and time consuming to clone your own that way.:TU:
Spoke to the seller, no paper, originally an auto, probably a clone he said. o No: Well I guess its not 1 of the 9 I am looking for then.
That car looks like an auto made over to 4spd,stick doesn't look correct, pedal alignment doesn't look quite kosher either. Pete
A good way to see the numbers on the block behind the power steering pump is to aim a digital camera with a flash behind the pump. You need to get the camera down in front of the engine and aim up. I did it on mine and got a good picture of the numbers. It's a lot easier than taking the pump off.
Were the hood tach and sport mirrors options on non-GSX cars in 1971? Anyone seen this car in person? Jeff
