I just found a 71 Skylark in a junk yard. Paid 600 for it, change the motor out for one in the garage and she is on the road. But the car is blue with a white painted top. is this normal for Buick or is it supposed to have a vinyl top. trying to keep it as original as possible.
Look at the cowl tag on the firewall, drivers side, just below the windshield. There you will find a PNT xxx which indicates factory paint for colour upper & lower body A letter as the last digit will indicate vinyl roof & the colour. If you can get a pic of the cowl tag post it here. It will tell you more about the car.
My skylark was painted two tone orange with a white roof and checked back on the tag 600 wow that is a score!! ---------- Post added at 10:45 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:40 AM ---------- 26 is stratomist blue and 11 is arctic white tag is good:beers2:
Wish the first two numbers were strato blue but they aren't... Numbers are right though I have the assembly manual from year one.
I agree I have seen several cars that had painted tops instead of vinyl! I also agree on the $600 is a score!:TU:
