Man oh man, where do I start... This is what I'm dealing with. Unknown maintenance and unknown mods if any. It runs and drives, but I want to make it safe, reliable, and a daily driver. Not looking to race it but would like for it to have a little power and be clean enough to pull up to car meets every once in a while (not show quality). Any and all advice on where to start is very much welcome.

You’ve definitely found the right place buddy. Car looks good. There are so many knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly people on the board. Come here with any questions, no one will make you feel stupid for asking anything.
I would personally start with changing all fluids. Going through the brake system. Check all the front end and wheel bearing components.
