Looks like a tach? not a clock ? hard to tell from the photo. Also, where is the tape player ? SLO, did they get zoomed by the dealer for a clock and tape player ? IS RED/BLACK/Saddle a recommended combination ? Can you post the cowl trim tag ? And also the records you have of all the mechanical work the dealer performed. Thank you.
To me it is an awesome colour combination Tri colour GS is not common.Plus a Stage 1 Same as a tri colour 442 not common Alain platinum 442 4spd A/C
A lot of these cars were orig. ordered incorrectly by the dealer or the order entered incorrectly by Buick. There was a TSB on how to handle cars that came in differently than ordered. Or in this case it could be that the car was ordered (correctly) w/a clock & the customer either didn't realize or changed their mind & the tach was installed by the dealer when new. Or if it wasn't special ordered that the customer saw it on the lot & said "I'll take it if you install a tach instead of the clock."
With the trade in value i figured it was the final sales sheet. They never calculated our trade-in, until the car was delivered. Perhaps @SLO can confirm.
I hadn't looked that closely @ the paperwork. The sales order is dated 12/12/70 and then someone wrote on it that the order for the car was placed on the 14th so it was a "sold" car & "ordered" this way by the customer & either someone at the dealership realized the issue when they went to fill out the order form & called the customer or the Zone Office clarified it. I'm assuming the tach is orig. how it came but we'll never know for sure until or unless the '71 microfiche surfaces (I'm confident it will). Shame they didn't opt for the SCO hood tach! Could've had a clock & tach. Quite possibly nobody knew about its availability. The $ side of it was probably fixed prior to delivery w/the final paperwork. I really like this car. I'd be so dangerous w/space & $, lol.
