I found what appears to be a 71 GS 350 convertible in a yard, being parted out. I didnt have much time to check it out, I am hoping to take a better look next time Im there. I did see the Buick rally wheels on it, a rough gs hood, 8.5 posi rear, tilt column, and some emblems. Did the GS come as a convertible in 71? or am I looking at a clone? What should I look for in the VIN? Where on the motor can I look for the GS motor code? Anything I should keep an eye out for on it? I will try to take pics next time I am there, and I will let the guy know I am plugged into the Buick community.
43467 is a GS......second and third digits, 34, indicate GS conv 44467 is a Skylark Custom conv See if you can buy the whole car....the boxed frame is worth decent money if it is good...as well as the conv mechanism, conv specific windshield stainless, etc.
