'71 conv. rear speaker question

    My friend Tony is fixing up a '71 convertible, and asked me if the rear speaker cone faces the trunk or the seat. I think it's the trunk because mine gets muffled when the top's down, but I don't know for sure....Thanks, Dan

    I believe it faces the rear and actually came with a grille on the trunk side to protect the cone from puncture by items in the trunk.

    Thanks, Jim. I'll let him know. I don't know if his car came with a rear speaker(it's got the rear defogger). He may need to hunt up a grill. Dan

    speakers face the trunk, and the well liner is speaker hole is cut out and installed under the speaker grills.
