Does anybody have accurate measurements on a boat tail riviera rear end?
Flange to flange, tube length etc.
I am going to order a Moser and am looking to compare measurements to see if I got them accurately.
    Thanks!

I measured my '72 Riv rear rear a few months ago with the idea of trying to go aftermarket for gearing. Here's the sketch of those measurements. Please let me know how you make out out with Moser. Perhaps we can get a discount for two ordered?

Thanks a lot for the drawing!
I actually ended up asking Tri-Shield performance to build me one.
I went with the Ford 9" housing.
The measurements I came up with were a little different than what you have, but I think that could be because we measured from slightly different spots.
The 64 1/2" matches and that is the most critical I suppose.
I might end up cutting the perches off my axle and welding them on to the new housing, so I will match that when the time comes.
    I will keep you posted!

Glad we’re at least in the ballpark. I agree the 64 1/2 has got to be right. What is Jim using for a housing for your build? Stock Ford or aftermarket? Going with discs or drums? Thanks

The LeSabre, '71-'76, rears if I remember correctly have the same, or close to the same outside measurements.
I believe the LeSabre rears are the 8.5's. So there is GOOD coverage as far as gears & parts.
I ALSO believe they are mostly a bolt-in.

He is ordering the housing through Moser and I'm sticking with the drum brakes.
I welded a big 12bolt (ring gear) type O rear out of a rolling donor chassis (maybe LeSabre?) and it bolted in and seemed to line up fine, I just chickened out on putting my welding skills up against that much torque and weight!
Might try it in the 71' ...
    Appreciate the input guys!
