71-72 Riv - remote passenger mirror?

I'm getting a pair of used sport mirrors from a 74 Riv - the doors are the same for all 71-76 but I'm not sure if remote passenger mirror was available on the boattails? Does anyone have a boattail with a remote passenger mirror and if so, where is the joystick?

The remote mirror for 74-76 was in the dash near the radio. The joystick cables go thru the rubber boot that also carries the electrical wires to the door. Is the RS sport mirror that you are getting from the 74 a remote ??

That's what Dave at CTC Auto Ranch said, both are remote. I'll have them probably Monday. Trying to find Riv dash pics on the internet isn't easy for some reason or there aren't that many of them? Could you describe more accurately relative to this picture where it might be?

It would be nice to have the remote capability but I could live without it. I don't want to modify the dash face. Wonder if I could mount it underneath? Or possibly re-use the "speed alarm" hole/space...

    Thanks for the help.

have a 74 (and up) passenger side mirror on my 72 Estate Wagon; as suggested the joy stick is mounted where once the speed alarm was.

Edit: joy stick can be seen here (lower left; forget about the animal) In the background a boattail with non remote mirror :) :

It's a done deal. You don't want to know... definitely premium price. I couldn't figure out compatibles (or if there are any), or find them anywhere else. He wanted a lot for the dash vents too, but I passed on those. Thanks for the picture.

Hey 75riv, just curious on your remote mirror mounting. I am about to install one on my 72 and using the spot for the speed alert is perfect. When you installed yours, how did you mount the control knob there? Was any additional hardware needed, and how is the knob secured? I just want to make this simple and don't want to reinvent the wheel, so to speak. Thanks.
