We need a 7040246 for a concours resto. Condition is not important as long as it is a rebuildable core.

    Date code is important?

Thanks George for bringing it up.

I really need it consistent with a 12B build date.

Jim, I have a 70 Stage 1 with a 12B build date. The attachment is of my original 7040246. You might get with Marco and compare your VIN with mine to see how close (before or after) this carb your looking for. Hope this helps.

    Yep Glenn

That what he needs, something around 300 then 9 with the "LK". You know, I recall a local guy here that sold one on ebay about 3 years ago for $725 or so. It was bought by an investor (one who sells Q-jets) out of Texas. What was his name??? Mark Smith come to mind... Anybody ever hear of him, or a name close to that??? This carb's date was perfect for your car & Glenn's (a distrib comes to mind)....

    Bingo!

That's it, hope he still has it. :Do No: I know it will not be cheap, but it was professionally rebuilt before placed on ebay. That is all I know... :TU: :bglasses:

Jim, There was another 7040246 that was on eBay within the last 60days maybe 30days and it was built within 3 or 4 days of my carburetor...Don't recall if it made reserve or not. I would bet you can find that auction if you do a search...If it didnt sell...it's another possibility.

I may have located the above 70 carb but the owner has a 71 stage car without the correct carb and needs the equivalent 71 stage carb to trade me. He needs a 7041241[ edit should be 7041242] carb so my alternative is to find this one so I can trade him.

    Jim

He needs a 7041242. The one at the end was a typo from years ago I saw in how to tell if it is a factory stage. :TU:

Dan you are right I have since learned the 71 stage 1 was a 7041242. Thanks for pointing that out. I will make the correction above.
