Did anyone ever do a repro on this piece? Did Noah Performance re-make this piece when it remade the stage 1 valve covers?

Jim, check out local salvage yards for 1984 Buick Century sedans and wagons some even had woodgrain siding. These are easy to identify by the 3.0 Litre engine at the front of both fenders. Many of these cars came through with the Stage-1 chrome oil cap believe it or not. Some cars may have a plastic oil cap however maybe it was a build date issue until they ran out. These chrome caps were put into production with a black sticker over the center of the cap on these cars that has oil info on it. The ones that still have the sticker are often in perfect conditon when you peel the sticker off. If the sticker is missing the center rivet is often rusty. I have bought many of these from yards over the yards for a buck a piece. Just tell the guy what it came from and not waht it is for. I think rare chevy engines may have used these as well. Our local yards are pretty much dried up arounf here on these. Everyone should check there local yards for these now. Just make sure both gaskets are intact and they fit tight as the gaskets dry up and brake sometimes and will not fit tight.

    Hi Jim...

I just found one of these on ebay and it was for a Corvette but
it had the same part number as the one for my Stage 1 GSX.
If you need the part number let me know and I will look it up for
    you.

    GSX Eric :3gears:

Jim- they tend to pop up on Ebay every once in a while. Scott Miller was selling the last one I saw for sale on Ebay.

There were two NOS ones a while back on Ebay as well

I think Jim is looking for this one. The AC FC-65 is the correct oil cap for the chrome valve covered Stage 1 engines. The lettering reads "Engine oil fill AC FC65"

I had about 10 real nice ones for sale at the GS nationals a few years ago and could not give them away. ended up finally giving some to friends and selling others for cheap. Have about 3 good ones left that I will be keeping for myself until I find some other nice ones in the yards. It is amazing how well some of these have been preserved over the years because of the black sticker over the center used on the Buick Centuries.

Actual GM part # for these is #6410394. This still may be a valid GM part # but the cap you would get is no longer the same as original but a cheap replacement. This part # is from the Stage-1 parts list in the Buick recommendations for heavy duty use bulletins. The 69 Stage-1 used a different oil cap #6410204. No idea what that cap looks like.

Steve, I think it is going to be like the plain one George showed the photo above from Zip. Not even chrome just zinc.

    Dave,
You're probably right but for $ 10.00 I'll take a look. Should it be the zinc plated I'll have a spare. Maybe I can blast it & paint it red over the Winter.

Not quite what the Dr. ordered!
    '84 Century with 3.0. First design-metal.
Plastic twist top & metal base that secures to the valve cover.
I'm able to return it without any problems.
