A "high quality" battery topper? They really went all out on this thing! It's an 85K description. It is a nice car, unfortunately, unlike Marco's, it will never go down the road again. Correct ancillary components, like an authentic Delco Moraine brake booster, a Saginaw steering box and a high-quality Delco battery topper, prove that someone really sweated the details during this Buick's top-notch restoration. Inside the cockpit is finished in the correct code 158 Black interior that's still restoration-fresh in virtually every way. Comfy bench seats complement stylish, “GS” branded door panels. In front of those thrones, a straight dash hangs upgraded telemetry above a retrofitted AM/FM radio.
I mean it’s okaaaaaaaaaaaaay I was just looking to spend more like a quarter million burning a hole in my pocket. Really throwing my spine outta alignment sitting on this wallet!
You would think they would put that in the ad considering there's more chance of the car selling in the states then in Canada. And the border is still closed unless it has re-opened recently.
Price is $185,000 USD, not CDN. https://www.legendarymotorcar.com/inventory/1970-buick-gs-stage-1-2240.aspx
Nice car! Was this the one that crashklein found in Florida? If so, it has come a long way! The restoration looks fantastic! http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/holy-grail-for-trade.120338/#post-925558 Here's what he listed about the option load...IF it is the same car.. Maybe it isn't? Are there any other green convertibles in the registry? I recently picked up a 70 GS Stage 1 4spd convertible with 55k original miles. One of the 67 produced. I have not put it in the registry yet but I have gotten the Sloan docs to verify it. VIN is 446670H177937. It is Sherwood Green, Black bench seat,4spd, NO Air, white top(changed to a black top) . It does not have the original motor, it has an SF block. Correct intake and heads, wrong carb and distributor, motor just spun a bearing and was taken out for inspection and placed back in the engine compartment for shipping. The car needs a resto. It has a maaco paint job, not to insult any Maaco owners on the board. There is some bubbling here and there. You wont know how much till you take it down to metal. Back to the good stuff, It has the original 4spd trans ,rear and wheels. It has 55k original miles, the original interior shows the low miles. Here are the options per Sloan: A1 B3 CC DC F2 L2 P2 V7 W4 X2 *6 Color MM1 Trim 158 Sold New in Fredonia NY I would like to trade this for a 70 4spd Stage 1 GSX nice driver. Since I am obligated to post a price I will post $125k. Please give me a call at 203-445-0273 Steve or email me at crashklein@aol.com Thanks for the ad
No problem Korrie, you would think with them being in Canada they would price in Canadian dollars, but that would make the prices seem even higher. Plus, I bet the majority of their buyers are from outside of Canada.
Chris, if it's the same car, then how could it have had an SF block back in 2007 and a matching number block now?
Great question Frank, but I am not the person to ask, I was just confirming that it is the same VIN as in the 2007 post.
I thought this one would stir some discussion. As much as I like true to form restos I can't argue much with the wheel addition & body side molding deletion. I'd have left the AM and not added the DS remote mirror but... Hopefully someone will get a pic of the engine stamps. Value-wise it was certainly worth turning the world upside down in search of the orig. block if it was out there. Would be nice if it was reunited. I'm sure we'll find out as well as who did the resto (Diablos would be my guess). Shift boot looks like the Olds version maybe? As Frank pointed out for that $ it should have the real deal battery & hopefully they sprang for Gardner exhaust but overall looks very nicely done. Price, depending on the orig. block issue, isn't out of line w/recent (past several years) sales although Green is a turn off for some (not me of course). I've probably had more green GS's than most. Green isn't my fav. color on convertibles for some reason but it's grown on me recently, esp. after seeing Frank's (@ctauto) recently completed '72 Stage 1 4-sp. & this one.
Found this in my favorites. I knew that car looked familiar. Surprised the link still works: https://www.rkmotors.com/vehicles/2116/1970-buick-gs455-stage-1
