https://www.facebook.com/marketplac...e=marketplace_search&referral_story_type=post LMAO! I could be convinced to take a road trip if anyone needs me to check this rare gem out for them. It has the ultra rare 3 speed manual with one of the early ABS brake systems.
Wasn't there an issue that Buick ran out of engines and had to start installing Chevy engines to keep the line running They did have to use Buick interiors in some 68 Chevelles to keep their line running so maybe chevy was returning the favor? The inline 6 250 was a chevy motor so they did put them in buicks....
Nope. Buick had sold the only 6 cylinder engine they had to Jeep in 1967, 225 cid V6. They bought it back in 1974 when fuel economy became an issue again and the tooling was installed back into the original mounts from where it came 7 years earlier.
Wasn't the straight 6 base motor a Chevy? I had one in a 68 special and a 71 Skylark with one. Both of those cars ran great but had to be junked because the bodies rotted off them, This is a photo of one in a 68 special. **the line about Buick running out of engines was sarcasm.
Ahhh, I didn't get the sarcasm. I knew it was a chevy motor. My mom had a 68 Skylark 4dr sedan with that powerhouse.
I also had a 71 with the 250. It was a great running car with the th350 and 3.08s out back. It ran high 16s at NYIRP without the air filter. That car hooked everytime!
