I'm interested in learning more about the sale. I am looking for a 70 vert and would like more details please. Thanks!
Well, I have a feeling by looking at his signature that he wants to keep it's location a secret as he has eyes on it. But it looks like a pretty original car with lots of potential.
Kind of funny that he wants information on it without giving any information on it.uzzled: Isn't there some sort of limit on how many Buicks a guy can have without sharing a little? o No: From his signature he has been blessed enough. I want to know where this car is and have a shot at it.
Given he's in NYC, my money is on that being an NY plate. Blue top/bottom/letters. Most intriguing to me is how he would know the car is being ut up for sale next week. Must be some small time, local auction.
Looks like there was definitely an engine fire. The distributor car is melted away along with the radiator hose. You can also see smoke trail at the back of the driver's side fender by the driver's door. Not to mention the top of the radiator cover is all melted down. Looks like a NY plate to me also on the front. Didn't PA have one that looked similar also? Better cover up that plate before someone has it researched.
I was hoping someone could verify it as an actual 4 speed car. Would complete the convert collection:grin: The car is in an insurance holding yard they are trying to figure out what the car is worth as they dont sell these everyday .Most lickly the owner wants to keep it and they will figure out what the buy back will be. Virtual Sale Starts : MONDAY 7/23/2007 at 11:30 AM EDT Pick Up Location : TX - AUSTIN Sale Date : 7/23/07 Description : 1970 BUIC GRAN SPORT Color : WHITE VIN : 446670H1959 ACV : $10,000 USD Repair Cost : $12,446 USD Title Type : SALVAGE CERTIFICATE Loss Type : BURN Mileage : 62911 E Damage Type : BE Special Notice: VEHICLE NOT IN YARD TIL SOLD Current Bid: $2,550 USD On Approval
Something is wrong.....since you have the VIN....get down to the local DMV office and contact the owner........if he wants it...it would not be sitting in the insurance yard......also, just because of the minor engine fire....that is not a reason for a "salvage title" The knuckleheads at the insurance company have their heads up their wazoo. I would deal with the owner directly since you have a better chance of getting a deal.......you and I both know what the car is worth either as an auto or 4spd.
Anyway you look at it...if there are pics and you can read some or all of the plate the DMV can get you the owner's info.
I followed it aswell thats preatty crazy money for a car so heavly damaged. I figured 13k max but $22,000 and buyers fee's etc.. thats just plain nuts... we dont even know if it was a #'s match car .Went to a sucker I mean buyer in OH.
