Does anyone know if this mirror is the correct one for a 70 GS?
It ame on my new 70 GS convertinle and it looks like it has been there since day one. I have heard that the 70 cars did not have the tri-shield....is that correct?
    Thanks

Yes cause it was the only year with a tri shield and that shape mirror. I have an NOS one so I could compare the number if you like. I think you will have to remove the mirror to read it.

That mirror is correct for a 1970 Skylark/GS. The 71/72 cars have the same mirror WITHOUT the tri-shield.

    Scott,

I don't think it's right, you should just sell me the car for a reasonable profit and be done with it!

Were those RH pass side tri shield 70 mirrors a factory or dealer installed item? I do know they are extremely hard to locate in any condition and command the big bucks when on the market.

I believe they were factory installed. My Seamist car has a passenger side mirror (non-tri sheild). From what I was told, the first owner bought the car but wanted a mirrior on that side and the dealership only had the non-trisheild mirrors to put on there. It seems that even when the cars were new these mirrors were as rare as goose lips.

    RH was an accessory.
