70 Bumpers on a 72 Skylark?

I would like to lighten my new nonrunning '72 Buick Skylark post coupe for better street performance and am tempted to install a new VFN fiberglass hood and a set of fiberglass bumpers. The rub is that while the hood is for a '70--72 Skylark, the bumpers are for a '70 and the front bumper has that that cutout for the grill. How difficult would it be to fit a '70 front bumper to a '72 Skylark? Is it just a matter of purchasing a reproduction grill from Poston Buick and installing the bumper or do other things need to be reworked?

You may have to change the headlamp doors. Also the parking lamps from a 70 are not the same as 71-72. Hood lip moldings are different.

bumper brackets on a 72 are different from a 70, and also the hood latch
    assembly must be changed

Ryans-GSX Have fun, life is short.

I changed the front and back of my 72 convertible to look like a 70 GS. You have to change everything from headlamp doors, hood latch, bumper brakets, turn lamps, Grill, stainless trim for the grill, lower grill trim (painted part), GS grill emblem, & hoodlip(you can use 70 skylark and save some $$$ as a 70 GS hoodlip is pricey!!) all in all it is a very simple job and the looks in my opinion are 100% better but hey I love the 1970 GS cars

as for the back bumper you would need to have a complete 70 setup taillights on the 72 are different size, Buick Name plate for the center large one not small like the 72, bumper brackets, and one real pain is the gas tank neck will not line up overly well but will work just when you fill up it takes a little work again overall a really big improvement and not hard to do.

Ryan he is using fiberglass bumpers so I think he can make the gas filler thing work well. just need to mount those to the frame . you'll need some 70 brackets and then cut the crap out of them to lighten
