Mike are you talking complete handle or what? I need a fiew pieces but not a complete assembly. What about price does that depend on how many orders? How much time before they would be available? Bob H.
I am talking about the black handle that the other parts I make fit into. Typically the mold will cost between 6-10K then to make parts is minimal expense. I really wanted to keep this in the US to be made but unless someone wants to step up and make a mold cheaper the costs per handle have to cover the first run of 1000 minimum.
With only having one shifter that style I only need one handle , but I do need a new one . So count on me to buy a new one from you .
Mike Rather than Black can you make them brown? Reason I say this is most guys are restoring 1970 Buick GS cars that had Brown Shifter Handles. Just a guess ,but for every one 71-72 GS being restored I bet 10 1970 GS cars are being restored. Or make different runs of each color plastic. Anyway, good on you for reproducing stuff. I made a $ 5K investment in 1970 Buick plate for rear bumper had mold almost done and parts Place comes out with it ...oh well learned my lesson and lost money.
Mike I think you would sell more 1970 only woodgrain handles. My reasoning is more 1970 restorations being done, while a 1 year part that makes it harder to find nice used ones;plently of used black ones around.
Classic Car interiors shows a repo woodgrain handle on there website. I am guessing Duane still has these? MIke I was able to find 2 NOS ones on Ebay in the last year. I paid 50.00 and 60.00 for these
'70 & early '71 shifters got the fake woodgrain handles. mid - '71 and up got black handles. I think the woodgrain style would be the better seller. This is my own opinion. Perhaps a poll would best answer your decision. Matt
