70-72 Stainless Rearview Mirror w/maplight

Looking to get a 70- early 72 stainless backed rearview mirror w/ maplight. I would like one that has good quality stainless, and would also like a decent mirror in it too. Thanks. :TU:

 

I believe I have one of these. Is there a particular part #? I'll pull it out of the garage this weekend and have a look, get some pics of it. David

 

No dont car about the part #, just as long as it is for a Skylark, and is in real good condition.

 

70 was the last year for stainless backed mirrors. In 71-2 they went to a black background/vinyl cover.

 

It was not until early 72 that the federal act was enforced that stopped production of the stainless backed mirrors, but my car was built in September of 71 so it had the stainless backed mirror. I had already started another thread about this in the FAQ section of this board if you would like to read it. It is under "Was it and option or not?".

 

I am pretty sure my 72 has a stainless backed mirror also.

 

I know Chevy cars went to black for '72. 69-71 map light mirrors were stainless steel back, 72 was black. Probably the same for Buick too.

 

I have a stainless with map light,stainless is nice,the mirror has a couple blemishes ,not bad around the outside.
