70-72 Ram air hood GS Hey Shane Lets do this right away!!! I need one for my 72 project. You see The Parts Place has done it again. Simply the best!!! :beer
How about new hood hinges as well? Must be a market for those, they are a wear item and fit all gs's and skylarks.... later Tim
GS hood 71-72!! Hey Shane Did any of these contacts work for your pilot program to repro this important part!! I am looking high and low for a steel hood for my project!!! Keep us posted on this deal!! Nick White
Please I realy hope PPI can make this happen it would be great to be able to get a metal GS hood so I will just say PLEASE    PLEASE
go for it Shane you guys are the coolest..... Just remember GS owners out there a wreck could be waiting around any corner . where are you going to get a hood. Not a bad thing to have a extra laying around just in case. Keep this thread alive the parts place have already proved they can step up to the plate. This is a much needed part.
I see they just recently did the olds 442 ram air hood which I think is the most complex out of the 4 gm muscle car hoods so the gs hood should be a piece of cake. Aside from one other reproducer who's olds hood is dead on perfect, I would give the parts place second place as far as quality. I'm sure sales would be good as far as gs owners looking for a replacement and skylark owners wanting a cooler looking hood. Allen
hey guys i got 1 for trade a glas 1..or a stage 2 glas one..im tyrin to reduce my weight...lemme kno..its in perfect condition..well not perfect but 9 outta 10
Take that damn spring off and throw it in the trash! It doesn't do anything but dent the radiator cover. No one notices I took mine off! Good idea on repro on the hood. Make fenders and sell a ton of them!
Don't stop at the hood, do the trim, too! I think it's great that the parts place is considering doing the GS hoods and I hope that they also consider doing the fenders, both front and rear. In the meantime, I would REALLY like to see them do the top trim piece for the grille on the 1970 GS at a reasonable price. Used hoods pop up pretty often (excuse the pun) but the front piece moulding for GS hoods is impossible to find in any condition and, when you do find one, they are like GOLD. So do these first. Being smaller and less complex, I would think they would be easier to reproduce and the sales should more than finance the tooling for the hoods. What do you think, guys? :TU:
Any update???? Hey Shane can we get any kind of update as I am saving my money as I will be buying more than one for sure!!! :TU: :TU: Thank you parts place if you make this happen you will make so many guys in so many buick clubs very very happy as so many of them want a GS hood but dont want a fiberglass one PLEASE KEEP US UP TO DATE WITH THIS
I'm with Joe. There really needs to be a source for this trim piece. I'm running a different year on the front of mine because the correct one is almost impossible to find in good shape and remotely reasonable. Please don't stop working on the hoods but at least take this into consideration as a near future project.
72GS hood!!! Hey Shane How about an up date on the GS repro Hoods!!! I am getting close to needing one.
I will take 2 gs hoods if u make them. And if u ever make the front fenders I will decroate my house with them inside and out!
I have a hood with bad rear corners. I'll give it to ya if you give me a good discount on a new one. If interested, e-mail me @ jlnman@comcast.net
Shane, any updates on this project? o No: I've just about given up trying to find a decent hood for a reasonable price in Texas.:blast:
