Well Brian, almost there, doesn't look purty yet I just finished the last layer of glass that bonds the underside frame to the actual hood. Tomorrow I'll cut the hole for the carb, clean up the underside, trim it and get ready to coat it. Then pop it out of the mold, final trim and test fit as soon as this white crap melts so I can get my GS down to the shop! Hopefully most will be gone by this weekend. It's 37 and sunny today and the stuff is already melting. Today, about an hour ago (below) This past Monday, taken from my shop. (below)
We have plenty here and looks like next week it will be single digits,so it won’t be melting either. Looking good!
I keep my truck down at the shop, I've been going in and out this week trying to knock the snow down some in the driveway. If I can get enough gravel to show up maybe I can get the Buick down there. But of course the challenge may be getting back up the hill into the road and then into the house garage! If I get the hood completely done and there's still snow, I may have to just carry the hood up to the car in the garage trying not to bust my butt in the snow
I shipped Brian's hood out today. This hood pictured hasn't been final trimmed, and just bolted on with very little adjustment. I just like to make sure everything lines up okay. Now I'm in the middle of moving from WV to GA, so more hoods will be delayed a bit. The plus side is the house we bought has a great shop already set up with heat, power and insulation already. Basically it should be move in, unpack some boxes and then get back at it!
I am actually willing to step up and offer patwhac some time to think about it and trade positions in the line up if that helps
Haha maybe a few weeks ago I may have said yes, but recently my situation has changed and I'm ready to get off of temporary hold and go for it! Glad the timing worked out!
Not bad, we take procession of our new house in GA tomorrow. I’m hauling down all my fiberglass equipment and some of the molds this weekend. The movers are supposed to be here middle of next week to get everything down there then other than moving my GS and boat down, it’s time to set up shop and get back on these hoods. I think as I mentioned elsewhere my new shop is already set up and good to go I just have to lay out my molds and get back at it Hell I even have a 2.5 ton overhead crane to help move the heavier molds around!
