Hey all, I searched a bit and couldnt find quite what I was looking for. I have a 69 Wildcat and want to put rally style rims on it. I tried a 15" rim and it wouldnt fit over the drum (all drum brakes/stock size). Does anyone know what kind of rims I can get to fit in my baby? Thanks in advance!

15" should fit but the correct rims for your car are very hard to find. The wildcat runs 5 on 5" hole pattern, you can find rims from a newer car but the centers protrude alittle too much for the correct acorn style centers. Not many people other than buick guys will know the wheels are wrong. I've been looking for about 3 years for wheels and just recently found a set and i know guys that have been looking for longer. You need to educate yourself so when you come across ralleys you know what to look for, even then there are so many variations they still may not be correct. If you do a search somewhere here you will find enough info to boggle your mind.

I'll try post pics in the next few days what correct rims look like and what will fit till you find your rare set. Let the searching begin.....Gord

ps..you should let us know where you are located as the buick brotherin like to know what neck of the woods were all at....

Any of the 15" 5x5 Buick chrome ralley wheels from the 'full size' cars, '66 to '70 will fit your '69 WC - Riviera, Wildcat, or Electra.
You will also need a set of the finned, or ribbed, cone centre caps with the silver on black Cat plastic inserts. :TU:

    69GS400s ...my own amusement ride!

Most B-Body cars of the 80's-90's also used a 5x5 bolt pattern, like electra wagons, even up to the '96 roadmaster wagons and impala SS's.

    ... just some other choices.

me ? I went the other way and put the ones you are looking for (chrome 15" 5x5 Buick Ralleys) on my '95 Roadmonster wagon daily driver. Kinda adds alittle retro to it

Theres were you run into issues. The 80s station wagon wheel that looks identical to a 69 wheel is actually a 15x7 wheel, and it will NOT clear the drums without a spacer. Also, the good looking aluminum 5 on 5 wheels you've seen on a ton of estate wagons will not clear the drums either.

I have 66-69 rims on the 64 Cat Convert and had to have the spacer to make them work, I found a set or 64 wheels w/caps. but I need 1 or 2 decent ones for a spare and replace one w/curb rash. I owe Brian Laurence aka Centaurian :beer a big Thank You for sending me the pdf file last year. I would post it as a sticky for all to use if I knew how:(

[IMG] This is my 65 LeSabre 400 convertible at a small show 2 years ago. Those rims came from a 1973 Riveria GS. Had to use 5/16 spacers to make it work, never a problem in 11 years of cruising!:Brow:

It's worth it in my opinion, gives the car a whole different class.
