New 1969 Trans Am owner I'm the lucky guy that Don let get this unbelievible car! I've had alot of cars from VW,Bmw Porsches to Camaro's and never have I been this excited. This is a fine of a lifetime! I been driving it for the past two days and it is just a GREAT car. Everything still works and it drives/stops/starts & shifts smooth. Last night I got the original Redlines,Ram Air plate & foam surround. He still bringing over the hubcaps & exhaust manifolds.Still can't believe this guy kept all this stuff and this kid sold this car to me. I plan to for now just get everything in perfect shape engine, trans, suspension etc. and keep it all stock so I can show up for the Pure Stock Drags with Don and have some fun with this treasure. Well thats all for now. Curt Richards Lexington,Ky
Dave, nope on the north end of the Detriot suburbs. Better yet for Rich when we picked the car up yesterday... It is a 360 special motor. That is the four bolt main Trans Am block which are the Holy Grial of AMC blocks. The block alone is worth as much as he paid. They were just strewn about with no rhyme nor reasons. Getting one is pure luck of the draw and rare. He earned the break. He has had a lot of stress lately and this sure made him perk up! Curt you are blessed to have a great car and friend! Don I wish I would have gotten time to spend with you and the convert. It sure looked great across the lot and in line. My eye kept picking it out from far away. Mark
awesome!!!! I just looked at the pics, damn, much better shape than I thought. I was expecting a little work. but, damn. :TU:
Welcome aboard Curt, congratulation's on your new car! Don's a great guy to be friends with too :TU: Can't wait to see the car in person at the track :3gears:
It's great to see a deal land into the hands of someone who will use it for what it was intended to do. No console gives it a 'bad boy' attitude that fits right in with the PSMCDR. Thanks for the pics!
It was a fabulous buy at $25,000. Congratulations Curt and welcome aboard. I too look forward to meeting you and seeing the car in action at Stanton in '07. :TU: BTW, if memory serves, there actually was a '69 T/A at Stanton back in 2000 or so.
Trans SLAM!!!! (SLAM DUNK!) Man, the luck on all that coming together for you is just making me dizzy thinking about. What a killer story, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't jealous as hell but good for you. That "he just threw me the keys" kills me too ahhhhhhhhhhh man!!! ou: . Sounds like it is definitely in the right hands and I'm sure the keys aren't gonna just be thrown around anymore, except maybe between the two friends who worked together to get it! :TU: Cheers guys :beer
