I need a 1/4 panel I believe driver side for my 69 Stage 1. I have one already but it hasn't been ship yet for the passenger side. Thanks, Ron
Found this car at FM 600 Wrecking yard, Abilene, TX (800) 234-2319 I'm pretty sure the passenger side is ok. I have no idea what they'd want for the quarterpanel, or how to go about getting it to you, but if you'll work out the details with them, and I can help, I'd be glad to do what I can.
James, If your going back to that yard, I could use the rear vinyl top trim (potmetel parts) if they are not pitted. Willing to comp you for your time & shipping. Jim
Sure! :beer Which parts do you mean? The chrome trip around the back window, or along the bottom/rear edge of the vinyl? Got a picture/drawing, so I can be sure? If it doesn't rain, I'll be going back there Monday.
I'm looking at the trim the runs below the rear window. The corners are pot metal and have studs that bolt through into the trunk area (3/8 or 7/16 heads). Would also like to find out if the trunk trim is in decent shape that runs just above the bumper on the sheet metal. Jim
Unfortunately, the trunk lid is gone, as is the bumper and taillights. But I pulled the chrome across the back, the corner pieces, and up the sides to the 1/4 windows, it's in remarkably good shape. Pictures here and here online. I also got the little black plastic retainers that lock onto the studs. If $25 shipped for it all sounds good, PM me your address.
Here's a shot of the passenger side 1/4 panel, it's got a crease along in front of the rear wheel opening, shown in the photo. I think it could be straightened relatively easy, but I'm no bodyman. I spoke to the guys at the yard, they'll cut out and sell the entire 1/4 panel (wheelwells, inner skin and all, if I understood right) for around $150-200, depending on how much you want. If they ship it, it'll be a killer, 'cause they ship via truck, but if I can ship it cheaper, I'd be glad to help. If you're interested, let me know, you'll need to let them know exactly how much you want. My impression is that they usually cut out a foot-thick chunk of car...
Here's another shot of the 1/4 panel, from the rear. Sorry about the glare... The rusty spots are all "paint-nick" surface stuff, nothing major.
Hey James, If both of those shorty rear wheel well trim are still on the car and in decent shape next time you go back, I could really use those. Great pics by the way. Oh how I wish we had yards like that up here north of the salt belt.
Sorry, but GD2227 has already asked for the quarter-panel trim and the front bumper if it's straight. But I'm wondering if those bits are the same on 4-doors or a wagon, there's a '68 Special wagon there that might be a donor? Here's my summary of that '69 2-door Skylark: The interior is pretty much gutted, but the 350-2bbl is still there, minus the carb. The front bumper is there, but I don't remember if it's bent. Here's a front shot. The thing that strikes me about this car is that it's down in the muddiest (when it rains) part of the yard, among the worst remnants there, and it's not rusted, and would prolly make a good candidate for resurrection. Solid body (minus doors), good glass, original drivetrain...but it'd be a labor of love for sure! Let me know if you think the 4-door parts would work, I'm pretty sure there are some there.
Thanks for getting back to me. The wagon doesn't have the side body trim, so it's doubtful it has the shorter wheel well trim I need. It looks like a lot of really good parts on there for the wagon guys though.
1/4 Panel I need the just the 1/4 panel. Nothing on the inside. I had ahood shipped via Greyhound it was fairly cheap. Check it out and let me know. Thanks, Ron
