This is from a 69 GS 400 auto, Lime Mist with black vinyl top, black bench seat. Owner told me the Green roof was replaced with black.

Number matching engine RR code with 420? and trans. Label # BA 69A491, stamped # 49Z124183. I know some of the info. but unsure of all, if anyone can help me decode this, I'd appreciate it.

Appears from the first glance of the triple 4s that it is a skylark custom and not a GS. It may have been rebadged along the way and the original emblems replaced.

59 was limemist and B would have been the black top. My best recollection is that G was a dark green top.

If it is a skylark it would have been equipped with a 350. If it now has a 400 cid the number on the block should not match the car.

I may have copied that wrong, the VIN is right and confirmed the engine and trans.

If that is the case the Tr 168 was a black bench seat for the 69 model year.

Thanks Jim. I think its a GS, I'll confirm with the owner on the 3 4s.

It's real. I confirmed the VIN, motor and trans to be matching. But the rear is changed. Also checking into the carb, intake manifold and distributor #s.
