I've posted in "parts wanted", but I thought that I'd add here too. I may need to obtain a full set of front control arms for my 69 GS350. I figure that alot of you guys may have some left over after going to that fancy-shmancy tubular stuff. Any help, or at least hints on where to look would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Well, if you don't find any, local yard has a 69 LeMans here and another has a 72 LeMans. Let me know what is wrong with yours. Also, shipping will be expensive due to weight and I am about the farthest away from as possible while still in the USA.
What's wrong with mine is that a coworker took them to change the bushings nearly three months ago, and always has some excuse why he forgot to bring them back, or why he wasn't at home for me to pick them up...etc. I think he lost them, but he won't admit it. I'm about ready to strangle him. How the #$@* you would lose 4 control arms is beyond me!
Feel for ya... One of my projects "lost" a pair of nice solid date coded fenders in a similiar way... previous owner (good friend & 1st restorer) entrusted them to a coworker to DA them down & metalwork the lowspots. Few weeks later & they were gone & nowhere to be found :af: :af: :af: 64-72 A-body front control arms... have a good supply. On uppers, several big stacks. Lowers, not as many, usually run out of RH lowers, as one IMCA circletrack builder usually buys nearly all of our lowers. Need a pair of nice lowers for '68-72 (have the larger diam shock hole) should have a nice pair & can box with a pair of uppers. Looking at $100 a pair on lowers & $12 each on uppers. Best to email, resto_cores@cox.net, if interested, my PM box gets full, & then messages bounce :eek2: :3gears: Roger
Well, the amazing 3 month long Control Arm Hostage Crisis is over! After promising me, and promising me that the arms were "done",(meaning the old bushings were out, the arms had been hot-tanked, and the new bushings and lower ball joints were in) I went to go pick them up last night only to find... 1. All of the old bushings were indeed out 2. The arms had not been hot-tanked 3. The new bushings and ball joints were not installed 4. The guy wasn't home after he told me he would be, so I took my parts out of his garage anyway...Screw him! Lesson learned by little ol' George...if you want repairs done, and done right, PAY a professional. Thanks to everyone who offered substitute parts, I appreciate the support!
