Yes, the fender could be that or more likely Verde Green...

A quick search showed one a year ago in PA, and we did have some basic conversation about the GS California with it as well.

Interestingly, it looks like you could order a GS Cal car without the "GS appearance package", so no hood trim, or GS badges I suppose? But still the 350-4 GS engine. That's weird. It means there could be some hidden GS California cars out there.

    I read it as ‘W1 (GS ornamentation package) +W2 + W6 were required…

Agree, option code "WN" =W1, W2 & W6 were "California GS Requirement"

You could order the L77 high performance engine in a Skylark also, so the only thing that made a California GS a "GS" was the badging. I believe the HP L77 350 engine was the same engine that was used in the GS350 also.

Ok, I see that now, that makes sense. I just didn't see the dark box around the GS Ornamentation option, which threw me off.

Bryan Woodworth has a ‘68 Skylark Custom that was special ordered with the ‘GS’ 350. He has all the documents where the lady was scribbling on the brochure; apparently she considered a GS 350 but chose the Skylark with 280 hp 350. It came with dual exhaust, too.

Back in the day I once parted a 69 Skylark with the 280 hp 350.

It would not have been a special order since the high performance 350 was available as a standard option (A7, L77) . Dual exhaust would have been special ordered because it was not an available option on Skylarks.
