well, a couple of deals have fallen through in my quest to complete my 69 skylark. one is i still need either a complete grille or at least enough pieces to complete the bottom half of the one i have. nothing fancy needed, but something better than what i have now. i currently have the grille for my 68 in the 69 and will need it back when i get around to finishing up the 68 project [someday]. my chrome surround for the 69 is good. just no bottom grille.
69 Grill I don't know how much, but I found this if you're interested. http://www.billionsandtrillionsinc.com/gtogrills/pages/DSC03713.htm Maybe this will help! :TU:
emailed the guy at Frank@MuscleCarPartsGuru.com to get some info about his grille on billionsandtrillionsinc. no reply yet. steve, what particulars do you have on yours? i dont have a GS, but i do like the GS grille better than the plain jane version. thanks
cracked, complete, very repairable, butI'm lazy and it will soon be replaced by the buicfranc grille sitting in my garage. I could try to get some pictures of the cracks if that's important -- i think it's cracked down the center and that is pretty much it. Might take a month or two before I pull it off, though. Gimme $20 plus shipping. -- Steve
Geez Steve- your giving that thing away. At least your giving it to one of the nicest guys on the site! Rob, if you happen to pass on this I certainly would step up, but I don't advise you to pass bro! Steve :beer
Yeah, if i was to put it in the "parts for sale" section i'd ask $100 or so. That's a "1,000 posts or more" price, so I suppose you're eligible too. As long as you're gonna use it yourself and not re-sell it. Sadly enough, by those standards, I guess I couldn't buy it from myself. o No: -- Steve
you bet i will jump on it. if word gets out that you have a complete GS grille for $20, it wont matter if you had rolled over it with a tank! someone [like me] would epoxy that sucker back together. :Brow: i have seen pictures of franks grilles and he did end up emailing me back. VERY NICE piece, but more than i can afford right now. the bumpers on 68 and 69 skylarks/GSs are nice and light, but not very good protection for the grilles. :ball:
Rob -- What do I need? A 5/8" oil pickup tube and a correct stage fuel pump. No idea what you have that you're looking to get rid of. Right now I could afford to get a buicfrank grille -- put part of a surprise bonus to good use. Seeing how as you were looking to piece together a grille, I figured you didnt' have a lot of dough to spend and maybe my offer would help you out. If it eases your conscience, make it $50. That way I take the wife out for a nice dinner on you. Maybe it'll make her appreciate my cars more. (then again, she'll probably say, "just think -- sell the whole car and we can go on a cruise" ou: ) Basically, I plan on pulling it when I drop my my front bumper for rechroming, but it won't happen immediately. Gonna be on the road for two or three weeks -- new york next week on business, then off to the Michigan 400 (my dad's footing the bill -- sweet!), then off to Va to see my kinfolk (read: brother and army of kids). So right off the bat it's three weeks out before I lift a finger. I'll post a picture tomorrow for grins, if I can get a decent shot. -- Steve
A few shots. Actually has a few more cracks than I thought -- been a while since I looked at it. No missing pieces, no cracked grillage -- more at the end and the center. Easy fix for anyone who actually wants to save a few bucks. -- Steve
