'68 or compatible ok. Yellow is normal so that's ok, too. No cracks or missing mounts please.

    Thank you.

CARS, Inc has reproduction ones. Part # WJ-630. Look just like the original for $35.75. Put one in mine a couple years ago and still looks nice. Not the cheapest way to go, but they are nice.

Thanks Keith. Guess I'll go that route. Do you know if they have overflow, too. I'll go look at the webpage.

68 Riviera never came with overflow tank. I think 70 was the first year for that and sorry no reproductions yet that I know of. Does yours have an overflow tank now? If so it may be one adapted from another model. I was able to use one from a Montecarlo SS by fabricating a mounting bracket and relocating one horn. I have also seen some using a universal retro fit kit that GM sold, but it never looks quite right to me since the tank is usually crammed and sitting crooked.

    Keith,

Have you posted full size photos of your Riviera here? My interior is green (Platinum) and I need a color on the exterior to complement it. I've been through this before and looked at Skylark/GS cars but not sure if I've seen the Rivy in that color. Seamist? Can you email me a good picture please?

Geez, stuff gets by me easy these days.

I saw a tank on the floor of the shop and assumed it had come from the Riviera. Seems like I pulled one out of there but who knows; I've exhaled since then. I will probably rig one to work for me. Think I'll look into a new Modine 4-core radiator, too. I doubt the 3-core will do the job. Guess I can try it before I shell out the cash.

I'm hoping my engine compartment will look like yours when done. I'm putting new heater core and blower in today and have it about ready to paint. My neighbor says he has some good paint with hardner he'll spray it with. He showed me the dash on his Nova; the paint is nice and hard and not too glossy.. should work well. Then I'll probably paint the suspension pieces in a bit more gloss. I have to clean an paint the master cylinder and booster (not going to have them re-coated) and have a '70 SF 455 with Stage 1 chrome covers for the car. Debating on the stock air filter assembly or a nice chrome open unit. Still have to blast and paint the core support, radiator cover.. ad infinitum, but getting there gradually. Then on to the rear of the car.

    Thanks for the info.

That retro fit of the coolant tank looks like it belonged there from the factory. Nice job. :)

    Gary,

If you or anyone else wants to see some full size pics I have a page posted. Just click on my user name here and choose to go to my homepage. The original color was ivory gold mist(code G) which is a bit more yellow. That color did not translate into PPG DBC basecoat so I had the underside of the trunk scanned with Prophet and it came up with a Ford color called timberfrost. I bought a pint and sprayed out a test panel to see how it looked. I liked it better than the original color, but it was close enough to not look wrong. I get a lot of compliments on the color. It looks even better in person than what the pictures show. The pics show it a little more green than it really is.

For the radiator get a 4 row if you can. I used a new 3 row with all the proper shrouding and fan clutch and it just barely keeps my 430 cool enough at 195-200 on a 90+ day. If I get stuck in traffic it may climb to 210 but comes back down once it starts moving again.
