Hey guys I'm putting a 68 lesabre sedan back together and need some sheet metal if anyone is parting one out let me know. Cowl tin under windshield and right behind passenger rear wheel. Thanks! 20200903_204707.jpg 20200902_135156.jpg

The area beneath the windshield is notorious for rusting out on the '68's. Chances of finding a donor car with that portion of the sheet metal still intact is not likely. You'd be further along to have a patch panel fabricated for your car.

My Wildcat’s quarters looked remarkably similar to yours. I ended up hand forming every patch panel the car ended up needing (I also learned how to shrink/stretch metal, use an oxy-acetylene torch to shape metal, use a MIG welder, body hammers, how to prep the surface for skim coating, seam sealing, applying primers and sealers, and how to apply band-aids one handed). If you’re not ready to learn how to bend metal to your will, become good friends with someone who has.

I checked my parts car and it has some holes under the glass too.

thanks for all the responses guys this forum has been informative and helpful. I checked with DVAP and CTC Auto Ranch because they both have clean donors but I cant see spending $700 before shipping just for the cowl panel. I don't have disposable income. I may try piecing it back together with sheet metal since I have more experience with that than fiberglass. SpecialWagon65 Thank You for checking your car for me. I found one on car-part.com at a yard not far from me but it had rot under the glass as well. Looks like I'm just going to have to dig in once the cold weather gets here and see what I can make work. Unless someone pops on here with a good replacement. I'm really surprised that no company has come up with a patch panel for this being as common as this issue is. Thanks Again Guys!

    67-70 Impala patch panel available??
Maybe if that exists it could be made to work. I have access to a 68 Impala sedan carcass, no idea if that area is decent.
