OK, exactly one week in... ---------- Post added at 01:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:16 PM ---------- I`m gonna try like heck..
I'm with Johnny "Bee" on this Dave ! She is really looking nice!!!!!! Great attention to detail. Hope you make your goal. Good Luck ! Rich C.
Makes me feel even worse about taking a week to install a starter and fix two burnt wires. Looks awesome. When does the Elephant go in?
Right about now the money is flying out the window as the ups man is stopping by on a daily basis. Looks fantastic.
Thanks everybody! Tomorrow i'd like to get the front suspension wrapped up before i head to work and starting Wednesday the engine assembly will begin..
Looking forward to seeing it at Stanton. So whose will be quicker, your Super Bee or the blue Roadrunner ? :3gears:
To be faster than Rick's RR is a tall order for anybody.. I'm no Ray Barton and don't claim to be. I'm trying to learn from the changes Mahoney, Key's, and Bob K made to their cars and apply them to the Bee. I have the unique advantage of being in the middle of this whole deal learning from everybody. I don't know where everybody's weight is? But givin the fact the Bee is a non-Dana 68, this car should be the lightest Hemi car in the class. I'm not lighten the car at all, it is what it is.. I'm attempting to tighten up the bearing clearances to run very low oil pressure and 0-20w oil (just like the new production cars) and little tricks like that. I scored an orginal 1966 (correct for 68 car) standard bore OEM block that sonic tested better than my old FAST engine, as a matter of fact it's the best stock block i have ever seen. She's punched out .030 now and everything is falling together real nice. She will be legal and i'll need a year or two to figure her out like the old RR. I doubt she's gonna come out running as efficient as i would like. My goal is a quick 8 car that's consistant, not to have the fastest car.
:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::bla:ou: I predict that will last about 11.5 seconds into your fast pass. If we were cavemen racing stone wheels, you'd be trying to figure out how to get yours the fastest....and best looking. p
Boy it is too bad there is zero depth to that black paint... :eek2: Nothing better than seeing a car like this get built to actually hit the drag strip. That is one bad ass Mopar. 10x :TU:
