I am starting to put my convertible back together - I need some info o n how the header on the car is put together. I know it is covered with vinyl but am wondering how far the vinyl extends to the end and how it is finished off. I know starting from the middle there is the trim panel and then the 'knuckle the top pin fits in. Does the vinyl extend beyond this to the outside and if so how is it finished. If someone could take a coupoe of detail pictures of that area and send them to me I would sure appreciate it. Thanks in advance

The windsheild header? I re-surfaced mine about 2 years ago, The idea should be precisely the same. I was able to pull the old vinyl off (it did go under the knuckle a little), and when I re-applied the new stuff, I used a cut-down plastic putty knife to get the new vinyl back underneath

Under the chrome trim on the top of the windsheild, I made sure the vinyl went far down- this bit of vinyl acts as a seal so no water gets under the rest of it.

I may have a few pictures but I'm at work right now

I was able to get 100% identical vinyl from a local shop, and cheap
