It was in Stockton for sale at 5500 for along time complete and running . I'm guessing he bought it and took apart and doesn't know how to fix . Might be a real good buy o No: . Good Luck guys
SOMEBODY better buy the damn thing or I'll be sleeping in it in the driveway!! - ( Untill she calls the cops and has me towed away inside it!!! ):eek2: Robert
This part makes me wonder what happened: "needs oil pump cost you about ($80) i took the original one off and threw it away and havent bought a new one yet,"
Translation from Dweebish: "I seriously f$%%ed something up and need a real good excuse for this thing not to start, but with an easy promise of running, so that I can sell this thing before the chump who buys it figures out how badly I toasted this thing. After all, it's selling "AS IS"!!:idea2: My advice? bring a complete timing cover, chain and working distributor and some gaskets & tools. You'll soon find out how fried it is. ( might wanna try turning it by hand before ya dive in... :dollar: :dollar: :dollar:
Motor shot or not,it's worth the $ all day long...he was in college when I called(young guy?). Whoever the woman was who answered the phone sounded very nice.:Brow: Will talk to him today
Let me know how you make out... I would LOVE to get another Cali, but I have one too many   :spank:
If it wasn't in California i would jump on it...fried or not...always needed another matching 68 to complete the californias (dont really want a 67) let us hear what you find out.
I just talked to him and he says the pump was leaking at the base. He took it apart and it was cracked so he threw it away. Now he is going today to buy a new pump(good luck...it's not a Chevy!) and get it running again so it can be heard. He assured me the motor was fine and the car is straight....He says the price is going up now that it's running. He didn't give me a price but I won't pay much more than the asking price considering $1000 to ship it...........
I might be over that way next week or weekend . If someone is super serious I might run by look and take some pics . I won't know for sure until mid next week :TU:
I am trying to land a deal with the guy but who knows if it will happen. If you can swing by there next week it would be great for all of us interested if it isn't sold by then!
It has No interior in it, completely cleaned out but I guess he does have the seats. It has No power options, manual brakes and steering. No air. Basically a zero optioned California GS.
I talked to him again and he states the motor is fine but no guarantee. Supposedly solid with 1 repaint.....I will pass. Good luck to whoever buys it.....
